WCTPA is celebrating its 70th anniversary!

Our summer convention, “Putting Water In A Fancy Package”, will be in the Shawano area (35 miles west of Green Bay) on August 15-17.

Hanauer’s Tree Farm is the host, and the trade show, speakers, and farm tour will be held at the farm location.

Order Supplies

Please order your supplies from our vendors who support our industry and association!

Schedule:

• Thursday:  vendors set up, board meeting, vendors open in the afternoon
• Friday morning bright and early: vendors open, registration open, tree contest set up, meetings.
• Friday noon luncheon with celebration of 70 years. Plan to be there to enjoy the stories, fun, and delicious food.
• Friday night: Dinner in downtown Shawano, socialize and talk shop.
• Saturday: farm tour, speakers, beginning grower topics, lunch.

Get your hotel booked!  They fill fast.

Here are a few in the area that Dan Hanauer has shared:

1.         Boarders: 715-524-9090.  This will be the most convenient hotel considering Friday dinner and proximity to the farm tour.  About 15 minutes from farm tour, 5 minutes or less from main street Shawano which has a lot of attractions.   They offer a hot continental breakfast, business computer with printer, workout room, microwave/fridge in room, banquet room, and a pool that may or may not have water in it due to renovation.  The hotel has been recently renovated and has all new furnishings including beds. 

2.         4 Seasons: 855-574-8501.  Most of their double queens and double kings are already booked.  Currently no breakfast, may change.  They have a restaurant, El Hefe.  Recently opened, very high-quality Mexican food, extraordinary.  It is so good I hope they develop enough business to stay open in our community.  Pool, hot tub, fitness room.  Located near our airport.  Probably 15 minutes from our farm, 10 minutes from main street.

3.         Quality Inn: 715-526-2044. Hot continental breakfast, no computer, no fitness room, pool with no water being renovated (what is it with dry pools?).  Located across the road from 4 seasons.

4.         Menominee Casino Hotel, 800-343-7778.  The Casino is about 15 minutes from the farm tour and 20 minutes from main street.
